MY DIGITAL IMAGERY EXPERIENCE
My Photographic Style
I am an experienced photographer specializing in local view, travel, landscapes, architecture, candid, and street photography. Professionally I am primarily employed as a graphic artist and use photography as a creative outlet. I utilize software programs like Adobe Photoshop to create duotones effects or I typically apply Photoshop filters to make photos appear as paintings or illustrations. Because of my graphic approach I label my photographs "digital images."
Since I live in Roslindale, many of my images are of my community. Roslindale is a gem of a neighborhood and I love taking pictures to reveal the hidden wonders in this Boston neighborhood. With my Nikon D-50 digital camera, I strive to find beauty in the obvious, or expose simple ideas that we see day to day right or in our own neighborhood. Living in Roslindale for 14 years, I have grown to love this neighborhood and always seek out new representational images or document community happenings through my photography. Some of my photos can be found on the newly designed website of Roslindale Village Main Street. www.Roslindale.net
Additionally, I conceived and photographed a local view postcard business in Rhode Island, which promoted Rhode Island tourism with sales and distribution of 70,000 scenic view postcards.

As a participant in the BPC Boston Neighborhoods Project, I have gained knowledge and insight into better photogaphy. The Project is a collaborative initiative documenting the unique neighborhoods of metropolitan Boston including their people, their places, and their personalities which enrich their sense of community and provide thier identity. This documentary photography project tells the stories of "who we are" in more than 15 metro neighborhoods. The portfolios that are currently posted represent the beginning phase of the project and were completed by the end of Summer 2009. You are invited to check back and see the finished project. There is information about where the photos will be exhibited in the Boston area.
