My Photography

Today, I am exploring my creative side by continuing my passion of photography. Now using my Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have incredible zoom and digital capabilities with the camera on this phone. Being constantly inspired by my environment, I am constantly taking pictures and learning new techniques while developing my own individual photographic style. I have particular interest in local view photography for the tourism industry.

All images are for sale and with a printing partner I can pass down great discounts of my images printed to canvas, with or without a thin frame. Be sure to check out my different photography pages on this website.

Things have sure changed since I first studied shooting, developing and printing black and white photography back in 1978. Studying for my BFA, Photography was my minor study (Graphic Design was my major), back at the Swain School of Design in New Bedford, MA. Unfortunately the college no longer exist and the art program is now part of the UMass Dartmouth's art curriculum.

These days, my iPhone has taken the place of my Nikon D-50 digital camera. After several fails with the Nikon D-50 and utilizing the compactness, availability, excellent camera lens and the ability to quickly take and download image files to my MacBook pro, I have gravitated to the iPhone with its excellent camera features. Because the iPhone fits in your pocket, one can take a picture at a moments notice or impulse. And with the advent of social media it has become customary to share images online for quick acknowledgment or delivery.

"By the way, our prepress operators told me that your file was absolutely great...they wish all of our clients would send in files as perfect as yours!"

"Bob, What can I say— you are the best! Thanks for ALL
you have done for Roslindale Open Studios. The brochure, postcards, advertisements and posters that you worked your graphic design magic on helped to make the event a huge success. I really appreciate all your dedication. It was a pleasure working with you."

  — Janice Williams, Roslindale Open Studios Coordinator

“As a volunteer on the Marketing Committee that I chair for Roslindale Village Main Street, Bob is an excellent resource for our social media, design, print and video needs. He is passionate about promoting small businesses and demonstrates a strong understanding of the challenges that small business owners face in this economic climate. Bob has a prolific talent for conceptualizing and then producing short videos to raise awareness of Roslindale's events and neighborhood character. We have also relied on him for a long time to develop our printed promotions, as he is very skilled in design and print production. He always takes initiative, always delivers a high quality product, and is always willing to do more. Bob is a stellar, invaluable member of our team - I wish we had 10 more just like him!”
— Erin Lyons, Director of the HSPH Annual Fund, Office of External Relations, Harvard School of Public Health

Roslindale Open Studios 2011 brochure is now at the printer

Here is the front cover of the 24 page Roslindale Open Studios brochure that I produced. It is currently being printed at Park Press Printers, South Holland, IL, on 35# prime 80lb bright uncoated paper. Front cover design, ads, post cards, and posters are designed this year by another Roslindale Open Studios participant named Amy Joyce. See her web page for more info about Amy's artwork.

Using Adobe InDesign CS5, I designed/produced the remaining 23 pages which include; artist directories, advertisements, maps, and photographs of last years event. Also I have included a QR (quick response) code on the front cover so people with smart phones and mobile devices can scan to bring you directly to the Roslindale Open Studios web site to learn more about this years event.

In its seventh year, this event is the largest, with 111 artists exhibiting including; ceramics, textiles, paintings, photography, woodworking, jewelery, stained glass, sculpture, paper, printmaking, mixed media, collage, drawing, illustrations and graphic design in 45 different locations around Roslindale. So save the date: November 5 & 6, 11AM-5PM.

Don Woo at Park Press has this to say about my files submited.
